Maintenance, Repair & Diagnostics

From routine maintenance to advanced troubleshooting and internal engine work, every repair begins with careful inspection, honest communication, and a clear plan.

Honest Workmanship

Repairs built around the vehicle, not shortcuts.

Good repair work starts before the first bolt is removed. The vehicle is inspected, the concern is verified, and the repair plan is explained before major work begins.

Whether the job is a brake service, tune-up, electrical fault, fluid leak, or complete engine teardown, the goal remains the same: fix the problem correctly and leave the vehicle better than it arrived.

Diagnosis before parts

Components are tested whenever practical instead of replaced through guesswork.

Clear communication

Findings, limitations, and recommended next steps are explained before repair decisions.

Care beyond the repair

Wiring, hardware, routing, cleanliness, and reassembly receive the same attention as the failed component.

Routine Maintenance

Keep small problems from becoming expensive ones.

Prices below are starting labor prices. Parts, fluids, specialty procedures, vehicle design, seized hardware, and additional disassembly may affect the final quote.

  • Drain used engine oil
  • Replace oil filter
  • Refill with specified oil
  • Reset oil-life monitor where applicable

Diagnostic Services

A trouble code is a clue, not a parts order.

Diagnostic pricing reflects the time and testing required to narrow down the actual cause of a concern. Repairs and replacement parts are quoted separately.

Tier One

Basic Diagnostic Scan

$60

An initial assessment to identify likely direction and determine whether deeper testing is needed.

  • OBD-II scan
  • Read and explain stored codes
  • Basic visual inspection related to codes
  • High-level likely causes
  • Recommended next step
Does not include component testing, electrical probing, or disassembly.
Tier Two

Extended Diagnostic

$120

Active troubleshooting intended to identify a probable root cause and a focused repair plan.

  • Everything included in Tier One
  • Live-data review
  • Sensor comparison
  • Basic electrical checks
  • Functional testing
  • Road testing when required
  • Narrowed diagnosis and next-step plan
Does not include major disassembly or internal engine and transmission teardown.
Tier Three

Advanced or Electrical Diagnostic

$200

Extended troubleshooting for complex, intermittent, or electrically involved problems.

  • Everything included in Tier Two
  • Circuit and electrical tracing
  • Intermittent-fault investigation
  • Multiple testing cycles
  • Detailed findings summary
Complex faults may require additional testing time beyond the initial diagnostic scope.

Customer-Supplied Parts

Customer-supplied parts may be accepted, but AstroGlows cannot guarantee their quality, fitment, or longevity. Additional diagnostic or corrective labor may apply when supplied parts are incorrect or defective.

Rust and Seized Hardware

Broken, rusted, seized, cross-threaded, or modified hardware can substantially change the required repair time. Any major change in scope will be communicated before proceeding.

Diagnostic Labor

Diagnostic charges cover the testing and reasoning required to identify a fault. The fee still applies when the customer chooses not to authorize the recommended repair.

Frequently Asked Questions

Before scheduling service.

Are the listed prices parts and labor?

No. Unless specifically stated otherwise, prices shown on this page are starting labor prices. Parts, fluids, taxes, special procedures, and additional disassembly are quoted separately.

Does a code scan tell me exactly what is wrong?

Not necessarily. A diagnostic trouble code identifies the system that detected a problem, but additional testing is often required to determine whether the cause is a sensor, wiring, mechanical fault, vacuum leak, or another related issue.

Is the diagnostic fee applied toward repair?

Diagnostic fees are separate from repair labor. In some cases, part of the fee may be credited toward an authorized repair at AstroGlows' discretion, but this is not automatic.

Can I bring my own parts?

Often, yes. However, the customer assumes responsibility for the quality and correct fitment of customer-supplied parts. Labor charges still apply if an incorrect or defective part must be removed or diagnosed.

Do you offer mobile repair?

Mobile service is available for many maintenance, diagnostic, and repair jobs. Larger repairs, extensive disassembly, or jobs requiring specialized equipment may need to be completed at the primary work location.

Can you diagnose intermittent electrical problems?

Yes. Intermittent faults are generally handled as advanced diagnostics because they may require circuit tracing, repeated testing, road testing, and attempts to reproduce the concern.
